Sample Prep Automation Systems
The PAL RTC with its Robotic Tool Change is the logical (r)evolution of the successful
PAL-xt product line. Finally Sample Prep prior to Chromatography no longer is the
bottleneck – with the PAL RTC you automate your sample prep and sample injection -
all in one single instrument.
The PAL RTC is the new platform for efficiently automating plex sample preparation
steps. With its automatic tool change capabilities the PAL RTC increases productivity and
widens the application range by using up to six different syringe types even in single
cycle. The Autosampler robotically changes between Liquid Injection, Headspace and
SPME methods within one sample list and without need of manual operation in less
than 30 seconds. The integrated Vortex Mixer and different syringe volumes automate
effectively your sample preparation steps.
Liquid-liquid-extraction, derivatisations, standard addition and dilution by manual
handling was yesterday – with the new PAL RTC you have the right tool(s) available
when you really need it.
The PAL RTC is controlled by the unique PAL Sample Control Software. It is applicable
with more than ten CDS and MS-Data Systems.
With the PAL RTC the possibilities are endless – the limit is your imagination.

With its robotic tool change capabilities the PAL RTC increases your laboratory
productivity and widens the application range of one single instrument by using
up to six different tools, even in one single cycle.

Especially for GC & GC/MS application the PAL Tool Change offers a robotically switch

Vortex Mixer
Enables efficient mixing for liquid homogenization

Barcode Reader
This unique barcode reader allows the PAL RTC
Autosampler to read the barcode labels on 2, 10 and
20ml vials regardless of their position on the vials.

traceability.

seamless CDS integration
Method Editor
Applicable with more than ten CDS, methods can be
prepared in straightforward simple way by using
prepared tasks. The sample list can be created with
the methods in a flexible but still simple way.
Subsequently it can be passed on to the analytical
systems.

Time schedules
After submitting the sample list the software
automatically calculates the optimized schedule for
the run times. The result of this calculation will be
shown graphically. The acutal status will always be
displayed either in form of a gaph or in a table. By
clicking on Execute the first of the calculated
schedules will be started. Further schedules will be
started when the previous one is finished. Priority
Samples can be added at any point in time during
the run.
Intelligent Automation for Sample Prep
The PAL Sample Control Software is the new control
platform for efficiently automating any sample
preparation steps with the PAL RTC robot systems
and will be delivered with each PAL RTC system.
Numerous interfaces, for example to Xcalibur,
ChemStation, Analyst and MassHunter, guarantee
seamless integration into existing CDS datasystems.
The software exchanges data with other systems and
controls all of the processes. On the basis of intelligent
time management the software considerably increases
the throughput of the analytical systems. While the
analysis is running the next sample preparation is
already taken place. The software truly simplifies life
for users since many of the tasks such as the creation
of methods or sample lists are very easy.

The setup and instrument configuration
can either be done by using the Handheld
Terminal or the PC Terminal software.
